Food Distribution

In 2013, Dallas Independent School District requested funding to allow 100% if its students to have free breakfast and lunch. Prior to this request, over 80% of enrolled students were on meal assistance. The communities we serve have a major food crisis. When kids are not in school, meals are often few and far between.

Dallas Metro helps to address this problem by distributing groceries all over Dallas as the need arises. Through corporate and individual partnerships, we are able to provide groceries to families in need. We do daily bread distribution and provide groceries to individual families. We believe that every child deserves to have enough food at all times, and we are committed to filling this need in our community.

During the Thanksgiving Holidays, we provide a box of food, and a gift card for a turkey for each family that attends our programs. These boxes of food help sustain a family during the school holiday when food can be scarce.
