What we’re about
Through the stability and positive influence that the Metro Kids programs provide within the inner city, we have changed the course of life for countless children. However, once kids become teenagers, they are faced with an increased challenge to overcome the negative influences they are surrounded by on a daily basis. In order to combat this difficulty, we created DMY- Dallas Metro Youth. Once a week, we pick up teens who either grew up in Metro Kids or who currently live in a neighborhood where we have Metro Kids, and we have a program similar to Metro Kids, but designed specifically for their age group. Each week the teens play games, hang out with other teens from their neighborhood, and hear a positive message. DMY gives the teens in Dallas a fun night, once a week, away from the constant pressures they are surrounded with.
